The Sentence - is a second year University group project under the unit "professional development". Groups were randomly assigned based off personal skills and attributes which were put forward on a CV application process. Our group consisted of members who had selected the Kickstarter project. We came to the conclusion of developing a horror game which would be pitched to the class for a sales pitch scenario.
Developed in Unity with Plastic SCM & Unity Cloud for C# code collaboration. Blender was used to rig and animate the first person element. These tools were used to emulate a professional industry standard scenario to work in a team. Consistent development of a product was made and presented at a showcase. Workflow pipelines were adopted from phasmophobias public jira/trello board. The development of the game mechanics and level span over 7 weeks with the final week dedicated to the presentation and report.
Overall the production of the game was deemed successful. There were affirmed tools and development of core horror mechanics. I was most pleased with the work I did on programming the AI enemy and the characters attrributes, i.e fear level & movement. Feedback from the room was positive, the game had a clear end goal with immersive tasks to complete along the way. The game could have done with a robust class system for creating multiple types of AI with different attributes. I learnt how to adapt my working practices to coincide and meet standard requirements from a team leader. My code became more fluent and well documented for others to understand and alter where fit.
